๐ Will I Need Extension Cables? (BBS02 / BBSHD Mid-Drive)
For a standard bike, usually not โ the stock cables are sized to reach. Trikes, recumbents, and other long or stretched-out frames typically do need one or more extensions. Here are the stock mid-drive lengths so you can measure and plan.
Stock cable lengths (mid-drive)
- Motor leads (speed sensor, main harness, and battery lead pigtails off the motor) โ Stock length: ~18 in each ยท Reaches to: The pigtails coming off the motor body
- Main wiring harness โ Stock length: ~41 in ยท Reaches to: Combined with the motor's 18 in lead, about 59 in from the motor up to your display, throttle, and brake-lever connectors
- Battery leads โ Stock length: ~11 in ยท Reaches to: Combined with the motor's 18 in battery pigtail, about 29 in from battery to motor
- Mechanical e-brakes โ Stock length: ~6.5 in each ยท Reaches to: Brake lever to harness
- Throttle โ Stock length: ~6.5 in ยท Reaches to: Throttle to harness
- LCD display โ Stock length: ~8 in ยท Reaches to: Display to harness

How to buy right
Every frame is different, so extension needs are unique to your bike. Start the install first, see which runs come up short, then order exactly the extensions you need. Ordering blind before you've dry-fit the parts is how people end up with the wrong ones.
